With great pleasure Engelbert Schmid can annouce the Mindelzell Horn Days 2023,
from Wednesday, September 06th to Sunday the 10th of September 2023.

• Professional piano accompaniment by Katharina Khodos at the Steinway-Piano of the Mindelsaal
Professors:
♦ Hervé Joulain
Solohorn in the Orchestre Philharmonique de Radio France in Paris.
Joulain is one of the most highly demanded horn soloists and chamber musician of the music world. He developed an ecpecially interresting teaching system and edited a horn method.
♦ Samuel Seidenberg
Solohorn for many years in the Symphony Orchestra of Hessischer Rundfunk Frankfurt, now Professor for Horn at the Musikhochschule Mannheim.
Seidenberg is an outstanding example of the good German Horn School.
♦ William Vermeulen
Solohorn in the Houston Symphony Orchestra in Texas and Professor for Horn at Rice University in Houston.
Vermeulen is a worldwide highly demanded horn soloist and a horn teacher with legendary success. He already brought more then 1000 students into orchestral positions.
♦ Engelbert Schmid
From 1978 to 1988 Solohorn Munich Radio Orchestra, will teach himself as many hours as the organisation of the horn days and the running horn production will allow him to do.
♦ Katharina Khodos, piano
répétiteur at the Musikhochschule München, International Prize winner.

Engelbert Schmid
D'abord membre de l'Orchestre Symphonique de la Radio de Berlin et de la Philharmonie de Berlin, Engelbert Schmid devient cor solo de l'Orchestre de la Radio de Munich où il restera dix années. En 1980 E. Schmid expose ses cors d'harmonie en public pour la première fois. Et dès 1990, il fonde son atelier: maître artisan, il forme personnellement tous les fabricants d'instruments qui vont constituer son équipe.
Savoir et passion
Et d'emblée la diversité des modèles met en lumière le savoir-faire et la passion nés de l'expérience du corniste. Une diversité de modèles à la mesure des besoins et souhaits de chacun. Une de leurs caractristiques étant la combinaison en Mib aigu. Les positions Sib de tous les cors Engelbert Schmid peuvant être abaissées en position La et élevées en position Si. Le cor Si naturel va vous permettre de jouer des passage en mi avec le même doigté que s'ils étaient en Mib (le concertino de Weber, le concerto de Danzi, Fidelio, l'Ouverture de la Pie Voleuse, Cosi fan tutte entre autres...).
Des secrets du son
Les cors Engelbert Schmid se font en cinq dimensions de pavillon: étroit, "kompakt", moyen ( = "golden cut" ), large et "Hollywood Sound". La différence entre les moyens et larges réside uniquement dans la conicité de la cloche et les plus demandés sont les "kompakt", "golden cut" et larges. Il vous suffit donc d'équiper votre cor d'un deuxième pavillon dévissable pour pouvoir alterner en fonction de la partition, choix déjà adopté par de nombreux cornistes. Pour ajouter encore à la palette sonore, nous vous proposons quatre alliages différents (laiton, cuivre rose, maíllechort et argent sterling massif) ainsi qu'un pavillon avec couronne si vous le souhaitez. A moins que vous n'optez pour le pavillon fabriqué suivant la difficile tradition historique: à partir d'une seule pièce puis martelé à la main. Si bien les dimensions de tous nos pavillons se basent sur leurs antécédents historiques, la mise au point scientifique dans la finition apporte aujourd'hui une richesse d'atouts supplémentaires: un son plus noble, plus clair, plus rayonnant et aussi plus varié, un instrument qui gagne en efficacité, en précision, en fiabilité et en justesse. Vous avez à présent un instrument plus répondant qui vous incitera à moduler et à créer. E. Schmid a su, grâce au talent qui lui est propre, percer tous les secrets de l'esthétique du son.
